type of stone. The flow of rough and cut material
may change rapidly with market conditions.

grading of gem material is a major factor in sales
on all levels. vote all the material, rough or
cut, from any particular source is of the same
quality.

of a merchant to accurately appraise the market
value of a parcel of stones determines his profit
or loss.
The
range value of finished stones, even from a single
parcel of rough, can be enormous.Large stones
are proportionally far more valuable, per carat,
than smaller gems, even of the same quality. |
